update.... installed my new LED lightbar on my Prinsu Rack., added a Blue Sea fuse panel and cleaned up some accessory wiring. The truck is getting all new exhaust today (turning the cats, new magnaflow, and tucking everything up), have a blown rear axle seal that needs to be replaced. Also looks like I have a rear caliper that is seized and will need to be replaced. Good times.

42" LED lightbar on the roofrack. It's a spot/flood combo and between it and the 3 HIDs on the bumper, the front light output is very nice.

On a lighter note I did get out for some fun in the snow on New Years Day near the family cabin. MTR's did great in the snow which was nice since my snow chains are a little short to fit the 35's.

My BIL's LX470 did great in the snow too. He is unlocked but had chains in the rear and was unstoppable.

Not really a "parts list" to worry about, it's all relatively straight forward. I'm not a big electrical guy either so if I can figure it out it has to be pretty simple. Really you're just running a positive and negative lead directly from the battery to the fuse panel (it's labeled well). That way you only have the one accessory connection at the battery rather than a bunch of them for all your different stuff. Then just wire up your accessories to the fuse panel positive and negative poles and use the correct fuses.

There should be a wiring diagram that came with the fuse panel that is easy to follow.

I replaced my exhaust yesterday. I had a leak at the Y-pipe and at the flanges for the cats. There were several broken hangers and both stock cats were bad and clogged up so it gave me plenty of reason to just redo the whole thing. I ended up using dual Magnaflow high-flow cats in the stock location but rotated and tucked up above the frame for better clearance. Also used a Magnaflow muffler and ditched the resonator at the tailpipe. All tubing is 2.5".

As for the routing it's more or less the same as stock but tucked up as best we could. This means it still passes under the frame behind the cats which isn't ideal but not something I'm worried about.

As for sound, it's louder than stock but not overly obnoxious. Definitely a more "throaty" tone through the entire range. It's very quiet at idle and while it's clearly audible at cruising speeds inside the truck it doesn't drone. Throttle response seems to be slightly better with my "seat-o-the-pants" analysis. Haven't had a chance to see if there is any mpg change yet.

Overall, pleased with the result and definitely a improvement of clearance at the cats which was my main complaint with the stock system.

Sorry for the crappy phone photos. Yes, I know I have a rear axle seal that's bad (fixing it tonight). Also you'll hear my starter clicking at the beginning of the video. It's also getting replaced (since I know someone will bring it up).

unchanged. I don't notice any more heat from the new exhaust.

I thought I recognized your sweet cruiser! I work at Mark Miller Toyota, and my accessory room is in the same building as the shop where they were working on it. Every day I walked past it I admired it! It's a nice rig!

Thanks. I don't have it in there that often since I try to do most of the work myself but sometimes I am just too busy and need some work done more quickly than I could do with my own schedule. I've had pretty good luck with the guys there (except for a couple times).

Yeah. This may not be the most elegant solution since the way I did it completely eliminates the wind deflector but it's worked fine and I've only noticed a very small increase in wind noise. The reason I did it this way was because I wanted the lightbar to not be any higher than the rack. If you don't care about that, you could mount it a bit differently and possibly keep the wind deflector (would probably need to be notched for the lightbar). So I removed the forward-most crossbar that the deflector is attached to. The next crossbar is usually mounted on an angle or horizontal like the rest of the crossbars. I turned this vertical and used two of the flat t-slot "nuts" from the wind deflector to attach the lightbar to this crossbar.

Since my rack is 1" shorter than the production ones it put the lightbar very close to the roof in this configuration. I put a strip of foam weather stripping on the bottom of the lightbar and it just barely touches the roof. It's been really solid and no noise against the roof.

    Hope that helps.

After 16 years of having an 80 series Cruiser with OME suspension (no complaints BTW), some changes could be coming soon. I'll share more details when they get finalized. Looks like I'll be doing some testing on a new setup that will be released in the US shortly. Developed in Australia and everything I've seen has been very impressive. Very anxious for this to come together.

My assumption would be that you are not venturing away from a company that has provided you 16 years of reliability and are going to a BP-51 setup?

That would be cool, but it will be a long time before the BP-51's are available for the 80 series. ARB is working on the BP-51s for current model trucks first and then working backward to the older trucks. So....no it's not going to be OME this time.

Looks like I should have the new suspension in a few weeks just in time for Cruise Moab the first week of May. Stoked.
