Haha I thought that was what I said initially? I think we're just misunderstanding each other. It's going to be a while before I have onboard air anyways, so I've got time to think it through.

I thought you wanted to use the large quick fists.

Yeah, and mount that the same way Boxrocket has his tank mounted except in the back corner near the tailgate.

Yea that I know won't work. The quick fists will sit to far back. The bracket that Adam and I have mounts flush with the bed rail.

    Make sense??

I know what you're saying, I was just going to mount one to the side of the bed rails. But I've found a better mount that will do exactly what I want. I'm going to get these two whenever I decide to get a co2 system.

Oh, really? I tried looking up stats for how may times different pound tanks can fill a 33 inch tire, but everywhere just recommended a 10 lb.

    Go big or go home

But really. A 10 can work. But 20 I was told will last a year of heavy use or more.

Might as well I guess. I can piece together my own kit with a 20lb tank for $15 more vs that 10lb kit.

Large quick fist do not fit a 20lb tank. FYI I know because i bought one. Ended up buying a mounting bracket from a oxygen shop.

Yeah I decided I'm just going to buy all the parts separate and save money. I can get a 20lb tank setup from different parts for cheaper than getting a packaged setup.

It's not that bad. How often do you expect that you're going to be using it? It's usually just once at the end of the trail ride to air back up. You'll spend WAY more time standing there waiting for the tires to fill than it takes to unclip the bracket and stand the tank up.

Not sure what you mean, the rack is just bolted to the bed so it is removeable.

^This. I have two of the large quickfists and they fit up to 4.5" diameter and most tanks are 6.5" diameter or a bit more. The large quickfists will work great for a fire extinguisher though. There is also a "Super" quickfist that is even bigger and it should actually work but I haven't used one.

PcBuilder, if you plan to mount your tank (especially a 20lb) with a quickfist, I would highly recommend some why to anchor the bottom of the tank. If you only use a single quickfist mounted to the bedrail, the mount becomes a pivot point and the bottom of the tank could easily slide out while on the trail and let the tank flop around. So somehow you'll want to secure the bottom part of the tank, either with a second quickfist, or a ring bolted to the bed floor to keep the tank from moving around.

For anyone contemplating placing an order for a rack, I unfortunately need to put any new orders on hold temporarily. So I will not be taking any new orders for a while until I can get caught up on the ones currently in production.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I'm thrilled with the response I've gotten with these racks. I never imagined so many would be interested in them. I figured I'd build a couple and that would be it. But It's really flattering that so many people have wanted one. Hopefully everyone that already has one is happy with the product. I've said it before, but I'm not a professional fabricator, I'm a "hobbiest" at best but I take pride in what I build and do my best to improve my skills so that I can get you guys something that you feel is worth the cost.

At this point I think I will be able to start taking new orders again sometime mid-June. I could probably continue to take orders/deposits but I didn't want people to get frustrated with the wait times so I felt it was better to manage that by taking orders again once I'm caught up.

For those with orders in already, I'm getting to them as quickly as I can ( I promise ) but squeezing fab time into my 80+hr/ work week has been tough. I finally have a weekend off this weekend and hope to make a lot of headway on these. Thanks for your patience. I'll send each of you an update soon.

    thanks everyone.

Few more pics of a customers rack in use. This guy uses his Tacoma and Jeep to train Narcotics Enforcement officers how to drive offroad. The rack has become a nice addition to his "tool chest" for training.
