You should probably delay building some for 2nd gens just to teach them a lesson :D

Trying to scrape up enough dough for one of these myself.

Dang if I had the money! Honestly though, these are sick and you did a great job with them. Definitely going on my list of things to get.

Man, you guys are gonna make me quit my day job.;) Actually that's not gonna happen. Day job is sweet and pays good money so all you schmucks are just going to have to put up with my slow pace doing these in my spare time.

As for skids.......no plans for those at this point. I need to get more shop equipment for that to make sense. Too labor intensive to build them the way I did with no press brake and cutting them out by hand.

Any new orders are probably delayed until mid February at this point. I wish I had more time to devote to these right now but I have a huge deadline at work on Feb 15 and I'm working a ton, including weekends until then.

I've been able to sneak a few hours to try to finish up current orders but if you order one now, I probably won't get to it until mid-Feb. It could be sooner but I don't want to promise anything.

I'm still happy to take orders from anyone and the sooner you order, the higher up the list you are on the order they get built.

    Thanks for the interest!!

For those that have current orders already in, I made some good progress on them last night and should have them ready soon and I'll PM you with updates. Another one will be shipped out on Tuesday too.

How exactly do you go about mounting ski racks to the rack? Can you do Yakima and Thule? Also how wide is the top of the rack? It looks great; I'm really interested :)

Howdy, very nice product. I read most of the posts here and of course the lead post ... but to clarify, the 2nd gen requires drilling as well? Thanks much.

It all depends on the type of racks you intend to use but most ski racks have universal mounting feet these days so if you have those it will work with Yakima or Thule and probably some others. These feet type are basically just clamps and should fit around the 1" square tubing of the rack.

    Such as these from Yakima
    [IMG]

    Or these from Thule

The top of the rack measures 38"x38"

2nd Gen Rack will not require drilling.

I have a Yakima rack on my Box Rocket Bed Rack (first gen). I went to my local Roof Rack shop and said I needed new feet for some square tubing. He gave me 4 new ones for free. I had to do a little shaving with my Dremmel, but fits like a glove.

I'll build a 2nd Gen one as soon as one gets ordered. Lots of interest but nobody has ponied up yet.

I thought that one local dude ordered one? I may look into selling the camper shell and doing a RTT set up

I built some load bars for a local guy. He already had his own basket already but needed a way to mount it. I built him some load bars that mount to the factory rails.
