    Good action shots Adam.

Still my favorite expedition trailer. I could see myself using it for so much more than just camping by having an open cargo area. I have a feeling I'll be using this as inspiration for one of my own in the next couple years.

Better to ask what I have not done.
    Hey looking good.

Couple questions. What would you change on yours if you did It again. And what did you use for the telescoping rack. As in material for slides and what struts did you use? I can't find struts that mount like yours.

    Thanks and looking good,
    jake,

Personally I wouldn't change anything. It's worked really well over the years. For the rack I just found some tubing that I would fit inside of the next size up. I think it's 1.5" tubing. You could really use whatever you want. I found the struts at a local RV/trailer supply store. They had all different kinds of mounting options. You could also find them on McMaster Carr.

Thanks for the inspiration. Got the mount idea from topperezlift

Still debating toggle clamps to pull the topper back to tight when down. For Up I think Ill use limit straps or maybe just let them go all the way. There are pins now just a few inches before max extension I used to test. I still have some figuring out to do.

Not a lot of binding but 75# struts are prob too strong. It was work to pull it back down.

    Thanks again!

Cool. Although I'm not exactly sure what the purpose here is.

Previously I built a sleeping platform sorta spur of the moment for a weekend trip. Didnt know the area and I didnt want to pitch a tent on the ground. Eventually the setup evolved and got 3" foam mattress. Storage of all the other camping gear went underneath tightly. The new matress made it hard to get to stuff then and I could no longer sit comfortably inside so I started thinking about what problems I had and how to solve em.... this was what I came up with after lots of thought. My fiance is going to make snap in side panels/inserts so we are still sealed when up. An rtt was an option but I dont want it on all the time and dont have a place to store it when off. Its basically a few compromises to get here as a cheapest best and most unique solution for my needs.

Looks to me that it wasn't registered yet. No license plate. But, why so high? it seams prone to tip over. Nice work.

In Utah it's not required to be licensed if its under a certain weight so I've never needed to. I've been dragging all over the place for 7 years now without problems, even in other states.

As for the height, it is built to match the height of the trucks that are pulling it, and also be able to traverse more difficult terrain than just a dirt road. I don't baby it either and the trailer gets airborne frequently and I've never been worried about it tipping over and it never has. Most of the weight is below the center line anyway which helps keep it upright.

Maybe you know something I don't, but it's been working flawslessly for years.

Hey Adam, I was reading up on your trailer build over on Expedition Portal and saw about the mishap with you spring hanger, I'm glad everything ended up ok! That could've been way worse. I was curious, when you originally built it how many passes did you make when welding them on?

Also where is that place at in the first picture on this page? Looks like an awesome place.

They were just welded with a single pass.

First photo is on the Kokopelli Trail in Moab.

Cool cool thanks for the info. I've only seen that trail as a mt bike trail. I need to do more research, this might be on our list to do on our trip next year.
