It does take me a while sometimes to decide where to park... I prefer far away spots, the pavement has to slope away from my truck and I will drive past nice spots that are downhill where a cart will roll into me. I always assess a vehicle next to me, cars kept nice are preferred, but not a guarantee. If I see a person alone, the passenger side if safer, unless they load groceries on that side. Vans with kids are bad, although sliding rear doors are safe. Never like to park next to a two-door, the doors are heavier and swing faster and wider. Just writing this makes me realize my thought process, sounds a little crazy actually...

Nearly this exact thing happened to me the other day, except some kid pushed a shopping cart into my driver door, while I was sitting in the truck with my wife! We exchanged looks and then it was all I could do to not get out of the truck and give that entitled little bastard a reading of the riot act he wouldn't soon forget. Then his mom came up with a couple other kids and saw the cart, and me glaring at her kid. I could tell she was embarrassed, but she didn't do anything! She didn't even make the kid apologize! She just looked at me and said pretty much that same thing; "Oh its fine, he just doesn't pay attention sometimes."

When I go to grocery stores, I always park one space over from the cart carriage. People don't like to park near right next to the cart carriage so that usually stays empty, and the truck does a lot better defending against attacks from carts than other cars due to sliders, and super bumper.

I've thought about parking near cart carriages...then I over think it and park out into BFE.

It gets hard when the wife is with me because she thinks I'm crazy and battles my OCD about this. Then again she has this insistence to put up the window shades everywhere we go in her car. Even for 5 minutes!!! I interpret this as her way of keeping her car nice, so I get it (don't let her know this though).

Below is where I park at work. People think it's funny I park so far away. My wife wants me to drive everywhere but, hates that I scope out the perfect spot! I find that it's a fine sience to park where you want get a ding. If I don't find that perfect spot I can't enjoy what I'm doing! I look for war away and one side protected by something other than someone else's car. I try to protect the drivers side the most cause I have to look at it every day. I really have a problem don't I?

All you guys are right, but this guy nailed it, -" they just don't give a f*ck". Well, the first person who puts a door ding on my truck is in for a sad story when they get back to their vehicle.

Exactly! Lazy is the operative word! I will often straighten the cart return racks in the parking lot, they're easy to move and are always too close to the parking spot next to it. I will never walk past a cart left sitting in the lot - I just grab it and wheel it into the store, no need to hunt one down because the "un-named store isn't collecting them. It's amazing what you'll see if you sit and watch folks! Geez...

I used to live in an apartment complex and both my and my girlfriends cars got doored hard while both were less than one year old. We figured out who was doing it finally. She had to do it to everyone, there was no paint left on the edge of her door. The day we figured it out she was moving out. I had some jb weld specifically for her door. Still have it. I hope to see her vehicle around town some time.

We're probably going to keep both vehicles until beater status anyway but it takes a really special kind of ass hole to be so inconsiderate of other people's stuff.

Drives me crazy when someone visits BFE and there are 70 empty spots closer. I know that person is just parking close to me to piss me off. If it is legit the person leaves several spots between us.
