So I just installed my new bpf grille and when I driver for 30+ minutes around town. The grille will get so hot from my radiator I can actually smell it burning the 3m tape holding on the letters. Is it normal?

The grill is about 1 foot away from the radiator with the AC condenser in between so what else do you have mounted on that grill like LED resistors? If in a hot state with the sun hitting the grill it can get hot but ………. Do you have a trans cooler mounted near it? What temp is it at (harbor freight has infrared gun probe cheap)?

It's all stock if that helps. The grill does have Amber leds but the heat isn't from that. And it's not sun hot. It's like almost burn to the touch hot. Will look at it tomorrow. Was told it could be my thermostat. But I think that would make the engine hot not the radiator and my engine temp is normal

I would disconnect the LEDs and see if some short to ground was heating the grill. Radiator and engine run about 190 but not physically attached to the grill. Grill just drops into the bumper and attaches at top by headlight frame mounts so something else must be the cause.

Update. It's not getting as hot as it was before. And I believe it's getting hot from my radiator. I don't think air flows through the grill as well making it get hot between the radiator and grille

Your fan is pulling air towards the engine - I doubt it's the radiator.

When I stick my hand behind the grill I can feel the heat from the radiator

You certainly should not feel the heat you're talking about. You sure your fan clutch is working?

Dealer hates to look at anything modified just saying.
With engine OFF, Fan clutch when cold turns freely and should not have a lot of play when you wiggle/rock it around and no fluid leakage.
After warmup, then again with engine OFF, Fan clutch have some resistance when spinning so if it still spins freely time to replace.

But if it worked OK before the new grill doubt that is it. Did you move or remove the fan shroud? Do you have the tow package so there is a trans cooler on drivers side that may be contacting the new grill. Did you add a new skid plate that blocks the intake from the front below the grill (look down and see or get under and look up its a good 6-10" gap.
Out of ideas now. Going fishing now for the day so hope you find the cause.

Will check all this out after I get the truck back from getting window tint. The truck has a body armour front bumper and also has the tow package

So the fan does spin freely when the truck is off. No resistance

    Same crap everyone else got
Is your coolant low? Does is spew out anywhere? If the heat your describing is really that hot then your truck should be over heating.

No it isn't overheating. I do pull a trailer loaded down 3 days a week and always stays normal. But I have noticed my coolant is slowly disappearing. Very slowly. Mabye a very small leak. Never see anything wet though
