    I just use DOT 3 (not that I couldn't use DOT4). From what i have read DOT4 just has the advantage of higher wet/dry boiling point..

    After reading this its appear that DOT4 actually absorbs water faster than DOT4 so needs to be changed more often... Didnt know that but if you do a change at least every 3 years it probably doesn't matter.

    DOT 3 fluid typically includes 80% glycol ether base which is one of the factors that contribute to water absorption.

    DOT 4 fluid typically has 50 to 65% glycol ether base with 20-30 % Borate Ester and as a result the DOT 4 fluid will absorb 20% faster than a DOT 3 Fluid.
