Brake Caliper Help

I was replacing my pads and rotors on my 2019 Off Road and accidently took out the wrong bolts on the back of the caliper. I took out the 2 bolts that hold the caliper halves together.

Does anyone know what the torque specs are on those bolts?

I have not found an exact answer but one I saw said 90 ftlb. Is this correct?

90ft-lbs sounds like a calliper to knuckle torque. I don't know the spec but I would guess somewhere in the 15-25ft-lbs range.

Don't go crazy but i'm sure the torque isn't critical there. Just tighten it reasonably...

 

uhhhh, that info may be found from a brake specialist.

 

Thought there might be some brake specialists here or someone that might have come across the same issue.

Not sure if same for 3rd gen but under 2nd gen sticky's says torque spec 91 ft lbs for 4wd and pre-runner. Standard was 80 ft lbs. Check it out. It has pages from the manual.

Yes it is a 17mm

 

If it's a 17mm head, then it's probably a

$13 M12x1.25 mm Self-Locking Nylon Insert Hex Lock Nuts, Pack of 6

M12x1.25 bolt. 60-65 ft/lbs is fine. Toyota doesn't publish a spec for this as it's what they consider to be a non-servicable assembly....so in these cases I typically just consult a standard fastener torque chart.
