    It should be tapered.

Bring the tapered one to a parts store and match it up.

Likely its a reman caliper, and you're gonna end up changing the whole things anyway.

A friend owns a 4-Runner, and I noticed one of the "bleeder screws" had a different size "nut." It snapped off when I tried to remove it (right front), but didn't leak. She has a "Toyota guy" who handles most of her maintenance, so I'm guessing he was the one who installed it. I told her to take it back to him to replace it.

A bleeder screw should never have a hole in the middle of the end that goes inside the caliper. The tapered seat is what seals the bleeder. When you open the bleeder, brake fluid goes past the seat, around to the hole on the side, through that hole to the middle hole and then out. If the end of a bleeder screw was cut off, it would look like what you have. The strange part of what you have, is that it looks perfectly machined.

Trying to avoid a new one if possible.
The only problem with bringing the drivers side into the store to match up is that it is noticeably skinnier. The bleeder on the drivers side wont fit into the caliper on the passenger side.

Somethings fuckareeno with your passenger side for sure. You need to replace that one, because whatever that screw you took out it, it ain't no bleed screw, and has likely f***ked up the seat. Since you're doing one side, you're best off to do both sides.

I think the seat is okay. But I'm not an expert. I dont think the bleeder was making contact with it. I could hear air escaping around it while pumping the brakes.

If you want to try to put a real bleeder screw in that caliper, you need to measure the thread diameter on what you have with a pair of calipers (dial or digital) and compare to real bleeder screws. When you find 1 that matches, hold the threads together and compare the thread pitch. If you want to use the Billy Bob redneck way of measuring, try open end wrenches on the threads to measure the diameter.

Also, whoever put that thing in there, sealed the hole in it with something. If the hole wasn't sealed, brake fluid would just flow freely out the hole.

Okay went to a parts place and got this bleeder. It fit good and looks right. The fluid now slowly leaks out the end of the bleeder. If I pump the brakes with the bleeder closed it flows out like crazy like its cracked open. Any ideas?

Assuming new caliper. Just don't understand what's happening with this one.

The Toyota one has a pointed tip that seats into a tapered rubber seat. That isn’t going to seat and seal.

The seat is damaged or not the same profile as the new bleed screw.

Wow dude your advice is to apply a bandaid fix to a critical braking component to sell it to an unsuspecting person? Whole families get killed because of people like you.

It's why we have an 'ignore list'. So we don't have to get nauseous over such buffoonery.

I'm sure I'm on some folks list too. But hopefully not because I give unethical or dangerous suggestions.

That bleeder screw looks flat on the end. I’ve never seen anything like that. You should have a tapered seat and a tapered point on the bleeder screw. Considering the time this is costing you, it’s looking like another caliper is the best option.

if its coming out of the bleeder end its probably a bad valve or the wrong size(length)
