Was changing out my front calipers, and the rim hits the new caliper. Is a 15 inch rim stock for 2001 tacoma? I don't get why they hit on the new ones and were fine on the old.Im taking the calipers in to the place I got them to verify they are the correct ones. But from what I can tell online, it seems they are. Anyone run into this issue?

01-04 come with 16" rims. A select few 15" rims clear the calipers though.

Yeah apparently the p.o. of mine, put 15" on and had issues. Because I can see there's some area on the caliper that is grinded down from the wheel. They ended up put ting 1/4" spacer washers on to clear. But didn't bother with getting proper bolt on spacers. Or longer studs instead. I opted for longer studs at the time I purchased the truck. And still have that shitty spacer on. Eventually I will be swapping back to oem studs and bolt on spacers. To keep my 15's as I like em..

So.. Your best bet is to get bolt on spacers I think. Unless you wanna get different rims. Or calipers but I think you got the right ones. Not sure why they would rub now and not before. Maybe something with the proportioning on the new ones versus old. Idk.

    Edit:
Edit: that or the old ones were a different brand and the newer ones are a hair off on the dimensions. Little wider maybe. I wouldn't be surprised if different brands were off on their sizes. And that little bit of difference is a big deal when running 15's. I would think anyways. As mentioned only a very select few 15's will fit without issue. Most end up having to do spacers.

Okay ugh thanks for the responses..

I would like to keep my 15s mainly because I just put brand new Toyo Open Countries on them. I just assumed that the rims were stock as they are toyota rims. On top of that, my back brake line sprung a leak while bleeding the fronts. Oh the joy):

Guess first thing is to get bolt on spacers. I don't want to grind the caliper.

When you put on bolt on spacers, do you have to put them on all 4 tires so everything matches and balances? I know I need them for both fronts. Dumb question likely, but I am a sh@t mechanic..

As for the rear brake line, it's the one from the rear proportion ing valve going forward. Hoping I can buy this part. They were pretty rusty so maybe it's good it failed at home rather than out in the woods. Ahh youtube made the brakes look soo easy lol

So it looks like 15 are stock on the 2.7L according to the door jam, but it looks like the rims, although toyota, are possibly off an older pre tacoma toyota truck. Put my winters on, and the rims cleared the callipers no problem. So I am going to try and find a used pair of stock toyota rims with more clearance and put them on. Hopefully that solves the issue, as they seem to be the correct callipers.
