05 DCSB with factory tow package, installing a Prodigy P2

    the P2 has 4 wires Red-White-Blue-Black
    White is ground
Blue is brake output to the trailer connector
Black is 12 volt power to the brake controller
Red is for the stop light switch

the factory pigtail Wire, Cowl, No.2 82132-0C010 has 5 wires < everything i have read says this is the correct one for the 05 tacoma, they don't make a plug and play harness for 05 but they offer one for 07 and up. OF COURSE my truck should have had this wire, cowl, no.2 but didn't, SO! i bought one.

wires are as follows, Black W/red tracer, Solid red, Brown, Green W/white tracer and Solid green.

The GREEN W/ WHITE TRACER is the stoplight switch.

The BLACK W/ RED TRACER is the (+) power to the controller.

The SOLID RED is the output from the brake controller to the trailer itself

The SOLID BROWN is the ground (-)

    The SOLID GREEN ??

Please correct me if i'm wrong, it should hook up large black w/red tracer to black
large Red to Blue, Brown to White< both grounds, and Red to Green w/white tracer.? correct?

What about the Solid Green? where does it hook to?

now, if i can only find where it plugs in at! getting in there to look is not easy for a big guy! lol

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
    5 Wires... A black/red, green, red, brown, and green/white.

BLACK W/ RED (+) power to the controller

    GREEN W/ WHITE trailer brakes

    RED brake controller output

    BROWN ground (-)

GREEN illumination circuit. If no illuminated controller just tape this out of the way.

    Hope this helps.

Sorry. I assumed my response was clear.

You do not need the green wire, it has no functional purpose beyong illuminating (lighting up) the display and/or indicator lights. Many controllers don't even have an illumination capability.

You can safely leave the green color wore unconnected.
