So I just bought a 7x18 Lamar car hauler (2,150lbs empty) that I'll be building stake side rails for utility use as well as hauling cars, minivans and small trucks. Bought a Tekosha Prodigy P3 and trying to figure out the best placemt for it to keep it level , visable but also out of the way of my legs, I'm 6'8". I'm thinking of mounting it under the ac a-trac button so it's level, straight ahead and out of the way but not sure if the Tacoma specific harness is long enough. Mounted it in the cubby to see if it would work there but it's not level. I think I can stretch the harness over to the flat section where I mentioned but it'll be close. Started pouring down rain so I had to call it quits for the night.

Post pictures of your brake controller placement please. Thanks.

There was a thread recently on this.. here what I did. Mine doesn't require being level, but it works for me. Once in a while I curse myself when I have a large coffee in the way of it when I need to give it a little extra, but overall I'm happy with where it is. And I'm a lot shorter than you at 5'8". I soldered my own extra length harness to make it work. (Pardon the messy console)

Mine only needs to be level side to side it can be any angle up or down. I'm already have thr bracket screwed into that place but as far over to the left as possible 1. For wiring harness length 2. To still be able to use the right side cup holder and have use of the cubby behind them.

Mounted the brake controller down below the A-Trac button. Out of the way and I still have use of both cup holders and rear bin.

Right here. Yes, every once in a while I bump in to it while getting out of the truck.
