Yeah, I'm investigating more this weekend. Are there supposed to be 2 clips per side or just one?

Only one of those clips circled per side, but that one looks either broken or isn’t sitting properly. Could be your issue right there

Yeah I've been looking into DBA, EBC rotors/Pads, or going back to Stoptech/Hawk.

It's the heat that makes the rotor soft thus becomes more prone to wear ("grooved") - Even with a regular pad.

    Your possible solutions:
    1. Look for a replacement rotor with better metal that can handle a higher temperature (w/o degrading its hardness).
    2. Increase your brake heat capacity with a larger rotor & pad - Big brake kit.
#1 is only a temporary solution to solve the rotor wear issue but you will still be suffered with fast wear and replacement on other components (pads, calipers etc.) due to the heat.
#2 is a better solution if you are to keep your vehicle long time, a healthier and better solution that can save you money and replacement downtime in the long run.

That's pretty typical wear for something that's running hot or a pad running outside of it's happy temp range (even too cool). How many miles on those rotors / pads?

I'm actually unsure. I think in the range of 20K -25K or so.

brakes wear.....I wouldn't look at that as a problem.

Thanks for the input everyone. I bit the bullet and swapped to a Wilwood kit.
