I have a '20 less than 200 miles on it and although the brakes works well, I sense the brake pedal fades. With the truck parked, engine on and I step the brake it'll stiffen then slowly fade down(not to the floor pan). If I pump the brake pedal it'll stiffen up a little but there's still that pedal fade.

if I could explain this more in detail that's understandable, I start the truck and in the park position, as I press the brake pedal I can feel the pressure that starts to build up at the top most of the pedal travel, then it stiffens up then the pedal starts to fade.

the brake fluid level is okay

Is this brake fade normal for Tacoma's?

Brake fade is normally referred to when the pads loose efficiency / stopping power from being overheating. I think what you're experiencing is normal.

    Thank you for the response.
I guess I should have used brake pedal "sink" although it doesn't hit the floor pan?

What you are experiencing is pressure buildup in the system from the booster pump, then slowly disperse. Completely normal in any vehicle. It’s also not “Brake fade”, that’s something entirely different.

    That’s a electronic brake booster.

what it does is when you brake it applies more force to assist your foot achieve better brake force without it all being on you to press it down.

after you’re stopped for a second the brake booster will
Release. Nice piece of tech, without it you Would need to press the brakes alllllll the way down hard to stop. Older cars didn’t have them, all new cars do.

Truck stops fine while driving although I feel a lot of pedal play, play before the complete engagement of the brake to stop the truck but now understand(just been taught) that it's the "electric" brake power booster. I get it!
    thank you for that.
    Excellent!

I'm coming from a couple of compact trucks that I still have today and it makes sense having the "electronic" brake booster on a mid-size truck?

Normal is what Toyota would say. I asked them when I did my oil change and they said it felt normal.
So until the truck doesn’t stop, it’s not a problem.
