That was my plan, a "patch" before I take it to someone who can repair it.

    Hopefully there is enough wire

was one of my initial thoughts too.

yea..... Love the fuse box and having all the accessories routed through it... wish I mounted it differently.

The wire didn't fail, your aftermarket shit fucked it up.
    There's a difference.

    Bingo.

Can you clean that area up and get us a good picture of the damaged section of wire? You might be lucky

I was going to pile on to "you blew a fuse" and ask if you only visually checked. It's always best to check with an ohmmeter if a fuse is suspect. I'm glad you found the right one. A worn through wire and burn marks indicating a short are 99.9999% gonna blow a fuse (if not, the fire will alert you to the issue). In this case, an important one.

Another case of rubbing to hard and it blew. :angrygirl:

There is always a possibility after you do the repairs that an electrical module/ecu could have been fried. Hopefully that is not the case but you will not know until everything is fix and tested.

Next time OP needs to brake, just splice into the horn signal and anytime he wants to brake, just honk the horn.

This thread actually gave me a nightmare that I took the brake caliper apart on my truck and had no idea how to get it back together. There were hundreds of small springs that I didn’t know what to do with. Then the dream went on and I realized I could have swapped pads without taking the caliper apart.

This just tells me this site has now brain washed me and I am more screwed up than ever.

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
That last line is classic! Thanks for that one...

His series on U-joints is nuts haha. Think its like a 7 part series, averaging at least half an hour each

Just started watching the video on Prius transaxles. Very similar to the Alison E40/50 transmissions i work on. Just tiny in comparison. This is going to be an excellent series to watch. Thanks again for sharing.

Damn Tacoma World has some gems of info in here if you read between the shit.

    Minor stuff.
Sorry. Haven’t had the time to get on here much lately with a new job position and traveling.
So I took my truck to the dealership. Their head mechanic was able to solder and rerun the wires to a new harness. It’s been fine. They were worried about computer damage but that checked out well. I cannot believe this is still happening. At this point, F Overlandequipped. They’re still selling that same tray with no redesign. Somebody is going to be seriously hurt by this. Really sad.
