Yes. Mine are much more sensitive than I am used to...sometimes just a little effort and the nose is down and tires are barkin'.

I came from two European sports cars so these brakes barely felt like they were working when I first started driving this thing.

The brake pulsating I am talking about can be induced by pumping the brake while parked.

OP, did this happen right before you came to a stop? I only experience it right as I'm coming to a stop and it drives me nuts. Steady and consistent pressure on the brakes and all of a sudden you feel like you're gonna be thrown through the windshield. They've cleaned the rear drums of any "dust" but still hasn't fixed it. Curious if anyone else is experiencing this and what dealers have done to fix the problem!

Does this occur at slow speeds, like a slight drive vibration or driving through washboard, if yes, then you are not alone, mine does it to around 22mph down to 15mph, u can test it urself by just coasting below those speeds.

no solution is seen or at least that i found and dealer is still researching mine.

I drive a 2015 Gen 2 OR and have been dealing with this "pulse" with the dealership for over a year.
I have now opened a case with Toyota Canada and the investigation is ongoing.
The head tech of the dealership has stated its normal as the pump actuates.
It should happen on every 5th pump and more commonly at low speeds.
I'm a red seal certified auto tech and by no means believe this is normal.
The driver should not feel this much feedback in the pedal. I understand the hydroboost system and its advantages but it seems to me a fail in design to have spring popping feel in the pedal as strong as occurs. it makes slow and city driving immensely annoying.
I researched for a year before buying this truck and Im happy in every other regard.
I truly hope a correction is in the future as this is a huge disappointment in an otherwise superior product.

Any updates from anyone? I just purchased mine a week ago and noticed this annoying pulse issue. Mine occurs every other attempt to brake. No bite either in my brakes compared to what others are describing.

I can attest to this as well, I've got about 3500 miles on my '17 OR and recently noticed this vibration which hadn't occurred before, some days it doesn't even happen. I doubt its warped rotors. I feels almost electronic, like a brake booster/abs related issue. It always happens when I come to a slow stop, its like a strong cell phone vibration feel to the foot for about 2-3 seconds, you can even hear it slightly. If it is normal, I wonder if it has any long term damaging affect on the braking system.

Guys... like two or three people have already said:

The off-road has an electric brake booster that pressurized the brake fluid instead of using a vacuum assist. This is what makes the MTS/CRAWL possible on the off-road and why no other trims have it. You are feeling the electric motor pressurizing the fluid.

If you don't have an OR, then you have a problem.

EDIT: the Pro uses the same brake booster as the OR.

I wonder though if the frequency i feel the pulse is normal. Literally every other time i step on the brake which makes me think it's not normal. I don't have any bite on my brakes that others have commented on, whereas mine brakes smoothly but requires more force.

Also not having HAC was a bummer, another unique trait of TRD OR/PRO, b/c of crawl control?

I don't have any of the issues mentioned here. My brakes are extremely responsive but I came from an Acura TSX which had amazing brakes, especially after I changed out the pads, rotors and bled the system. The Stoptech upgrade I did on that car made the brakes super touchy as well.

It's the accumulator pump spinning up. Normal.

Park the truck, depress the brake ordeal 2-3 times and you'll feel the pedal sensation and you can hear the pump if you listen closely

    The investigation with Toyota continues.
They ask me to leave the truck for a day, and do some tests. I haven't heard anything about anything.
As much as I'm getting used to it, I stand by the fact that its not acceptable for what should be a superior product.
I'm also noticing increased under-braking or over-braking at times dependent on different scenarios.
    Face the facts.
Its a brake by wire/computer- system and they didn't figure it all out correctly.

How are none of you reading that this is normal as the OR has an electric booster vs. vaccum in other models to help with slow (low vacuum conditions present when offroad) that has been discussed endlessly?

Jesus FC listen(read), think, and then search. Do we need another thread?

    go f*ck yourself, expert.
    I'm a red seal mechanic.
I know what Hydro boost is.
GM can make Hydro-boost that does not have this poor pedal feel.
    Eat a dick.
