Hey guys, I did a search but couldn't find the answer. I was wondering at what miles do you flush the brake fluid at ? I have a 2011 prerunner TRD with 45000 miles.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
I have 130k on mine. Still have original brakes. I plan to replace everything and do a flush in the spring when it is warm and I can take the time to deal with it.

Recommendations vary. Some will say every 3 years, some never do it.

I flush every 5, but I am a maintenance whore.

The fluid near the calipers breaks down over time due to heat. Moisture also eventually seeps in. I live in the desert SW and change it every five years even if it looks clear in the master cylinder as that may not be the case at the wheels. Fresh fluid will also extend the life of the rubber components in the brake system.

Symptoms can show up over time because of the brake fluid breaking down do to moisture and heat transfer....depending on climate and road conditions style of driving. Cant hurt anything buy bleeding the breaks on a regular basis....Brake fluid is one of cheapest items to purchase - flush often. Easy to do....

Why encourage one or some of the eight front pistons to stick? Change the fluid during the front brake job (ie 3-4 years). Prestone Dot4 is a very good synthetic and cheap.

I flush mine every couple years. I have a TRD Sport so this doesn't help me, but the magic brakes on the TRD OR make that one super easy to flush with one person.
