BUMP. OMG, just had this line suddenly start leaking on me and brakes went limp - lucky I was just turning onto my block when this happened. Is this a common issue on the Taco's or is someone trying to kill me? Easy to replace and I assume need to bleed after swapping the hose yes? Thanks!!!

not exactly common for it to cause a leak but it is common for the coating on the line to wear off or corrode. Looks like somethin must have got caught on your wheel or rotor and clipped the line. That wear looks odd

Yeah maybe something flew up and hit it, not sure??? I know i did catch a couple guys doing crime in my area last week and they all were arrested but haven't seen them return on camera. I will take it out tomorrow or when I have the replacement line and take a look. Curious as to wtf caused this as I have NEVER had this happen to me ever. Glad I didn't have anyone with me or by me.

If you have the factory rubber lines you can pinch them with a clamp to make it a little easier to swap. Less mess and bleeding that way. Unfortunate circumstances, i hope it goes well for ya

I use to make these. Have you called dealership to see if you can buy a new line? I think they sell them. Also check the end of the line and where it goes in could be the end of the tube failed, the fitting could’ve failed or where it attaches could’ve cracked. Pretty rare for these to fail, maybe something got kicked up on the road and screwed you up?

Yeah first time I have ever had this happen and when telling my friends about it, they joking asked if someone was trying to kill me. I lol'ed but really, my stomach and I started thinking cuz yeah...these don't usually fail. I wonder if something really hit it or perhaps just old as the truck is 17 years old and entirely in rusty Canada.

    Thanks for the suggestions.
