Pretty sure a brake master cylinder would be under powertrain 5/60

Yes it has a salvage title. And last service was in 2015.
So I’m stuck with figuring out if it is the MC that needs to be replaced? truck runs great until it locks up that’s the only issue it has.

Warranty goes with the car if you're under 5yrs/60k miles from original date of purchase you still have a powertrain warranty (unless its a salvage title).

PM me VIN# i can run a carfax for you and tell you when it was first put into service, therefore when warranty expires

Edit: Disregard just saw its a salvage, yeah you're on your own sorry :(

being that it is a salvage.. seems like the first place to start would be the wiring. which is what the trouble shooting file i linked to early states

    good luck op

I’m thinking the pedal pushrod is too long and needs to be adjusted.

    Start there anyway, it’s free99.

According to the carfax damage was left front. Might want to look at wiring in that general area first.

There’s probably spec somewhere like on TIS, and maybe your owner’s manual, but you want to make sure there is just a bit of free travel in the pedal before it starts to move the piston in the master cylinder.

If the pushrod is too long, it essentially holds the brake fluid from returning to the reservoir, and heating up the brakes / calipers with repeat braking causes the fluid to expand and build pressure in the hydraulic system. That’s why cracking the line loose “resets” things until the next temperature cycle.

A plugged vent port in the MC can do this too, but I’ve only ever seen that with cast iron cylinders that were rusted to hell. Anything is possible though.

I think your pressure sensor code is because there is pressure in the circuit when there shouldn’t be, and is just a symptom of a mechanical / hydraulic issue.

    Lots of sail boat fuel
Even though it's a salvage, does the brake tsb for third gens cover it? I know I need to get mine in for it
