Just curious what kind of mileage are you getting on your Gen 2 front brakes?

It all depends. Driving conditions for 1. Do you live where its flat or in the mountains ? Do you town a trailer? Are you a lead foot? Traffic conditions,etc.....

I have almost 30,000 miles on my '07, and checked yesterday. Still have about 50% left.

50k and still not much wear. Mostly highway. Mostly flat. Try to coast down when I can and then brake at about 20mph. I've had to lock them up a few times.

They've squeaked in the morning for the first few stops since day one, but I guess that's pretty normal.

Anyone had to change their brakes due to pads and shoes being warned out yet? I have 52,000 on an 06 and it feels like they aren't as good as they once were. No squealing or anything like that. I am thinking about upgrading when I get them replaced. I was going to go with the Hawk pads, thinking about rotors and brake hose upgrade on the fronts as well. Any thoughts?

I'm about the same with 37K. I expected to do a brake job at 50K anyway so I'll be happy if it makes that far or maybe beyond (looks like it will).

I have abour 55K on mine and they're starting to feel a little spongy. I am probably getting them checked out soon.

    I do about 60/40 highway/city driving.

I recently bought my 2006 5-lug access cab with 40k miles on it and the dealer did the front brakes before selling it, not sure why. The original owner lived and worked in the SF Bay area where there are some hills and traffic, and he used it as a restaurant supply delivery truck.

Ok yes I now see the dates on the posts. I know it's old but doing a little research here...
I am currently looking to do a break job on my 2008 double cab short. I just started feeling a shimmy when I go camping. Lots f weight in the back as well as my girl and 2 dogs.
So when I hit 6% grades... as they heat up I start to get a shimmy. Sometimes pretty bad and I hop in the slow lane and stab break the rest of the decline to let them cool down and then it's fine again. I know it's time even though there is no squeal or noise. I'll be doing rotors and pads. Calipers seem nice and strong. Actually it breaks like a champ in normal driving.
Yes, I'm a lead foot and have been told that I break hard. Well I guess I do break hard. Performance on modern breaks allow it safely. In my opinion at least. Anyways I currently have 138,000 miles on my baby. Original pads I'm sure and all break components. I got the truck with 50k on it. I guess it's possible they did a break job but I'm guessing not. It just got dropped off from the trade in as is. Still plenty of personal stuff inside when I drove it. I got the truck that night after a wash and detail. So that's why I'm guessing they are original breaks.
So I got 138,000 from OEM.
I was just about to go do the ol' parts store special and thought.. dang it's worth the money for factory! Living proof!
Ok just my 2 cents. Impressed!

84,000 miles on my DCLB 2013 and still on stock brakes.

I do very little towing and hauling (As in I only do it a couple times a year for short distances).
    95% highway driving
I am not a lead foot.
