    I have an 06' with 90,000 miles still running on the original brakes. No issues and the brakes look good. How is everyone else doing with their brakes?

    add a leaf, Bilstein 5100's
    I also have an 06, changed my fronts at 110,000 miles. Changed pads and rotors. Rear drum and shoes will need to be changed soon.

    It was around 90k, I changed my rotors and pads.


    These trucks brakes definitely last longer in mileage than the previous 95-04s.

    Replaced oem at 36k and the pads only had 1/3rd life left.

    Loving my EBC stage 5 super street kit :D

    Im just under 160k now, riding on napa premium brakes.


    I would go back to oem toyota rotors and pads. where do you hawaii TWers get em? or have some of you not changed em yet?

    if its not OEM brakes i usually recommend Centric premium rotors and ceramic pads. usually able to get them on Amazon.


    dont buy any cross drill/slotted rotors they only make noise and hardly stops your truck any faster

    I have dimpled and slotted EBC rotors and have had them before. They are silent.

    hahaha do you guys live somewhere that has no hills or do i just drive like a complete ass? 93k on my truck ive been through at least 4 sets of pads and rotors. stock toyota shit is usually 25-30k for me. I was absolutely in love with the stopping power of the EBC stage 5 kit but i roasted that set in 17,000 miles and waited too long that i scored the right rotor with the pad backing otherwise i could have just added new pads. Just dropped on some local auto store "premium" "extended wear" pads and rotors, they dont stop too good but im hoping its just because they arent broken in yet. probably going back to EBC's again after this.

    I second this ^ ebc stage 5 dimpled/slotted rotors were silent and had the best stopping power of anything ive used.

    I would not recommend the yellow pads for daily use. I got 11k out of them.

    I'm now running Duralast gold ceramic low dust pads on new stage 5 ebc sport dimpled and slotted rotors

    do they stop as well as the yellow stuff though? sounds like your more aggressive than me even! they are dusty as shit but damn do they stop well. i have a lot of hills around, do some boat trailer towing, and volunteer with the FD so i like to be able to stop well even if it costs a little more.

    I certainly don't drive like i used to but i totally understand what you are saying.

    I just can't deal with the dust. Its too messy. Of course these pads don't stop as well, but they definitely stop way better than stock due to the agressive rotors

    Hmmm.

    It would seem you drive quite hard unless you have some very unusual conditions. Including ALL of your mileage being city stop and go.

    Hard and 'ass' can be mutual, or exclusive, depending on your definitions. In my experience most who drive like 'ass' think they are awesome hard driving stunt men until some old man w/half their HP undercuts their time slip on a closed course a few seconds. Repeatedly.

    60-75k on OE stuff should be pretty easy to achieve in normal conditions.
