My friends 2007 Tacoma's brake lights won't shut off. What could be the problem?

Short somewhere, like above check the brake switch. Also some light bulb filaments will break off and cause a short. If not the prongs on the back of the bulb might cause a short.

Just check them one by one. Starting with the switch
