Hey everyone. It's been quite sometime since I've been on here. I've got a bit of a problem. My brake lights do not work nor do the brake lights on my trailer. I have to push the break bypass button every time to get the truck out of park. Out side of looking at the fuses I have no idea what to look for to resolve this issue.

it sounds like you have a short somewhere. Have you recently changed any break Bob's or done anything to your wiring?

Your brake switch probably went bad. Short across it and see if it works then

It is either the brake switch, brake fuse or the shift lock solenoid. Switch is on the brake pedal under the dash.

Thanks for the help. Ended up being a fuse. Ended up being the one labeled stop. I passed right over it yesterday when chasing down my problem

With that fuse blown you had no voltage to the brake switch and no power to the shift lock solenoid.

    Good job.

Well the fuse blew. I threw a larger 15 amp fuse in just to get Home with brake lights. The 15 will last a couple of weeks before blowing. I’m in the field working and the abs light came on and the fuse blew. I had been trying to find the time to investigate further but but I’ve been way too busy. I had planned to look into the aftermarket trailer wire plug I had to splice in but now I’m not sure since the abs light has came on. The brake switch maybe shorting out? Going bad?

The ABS light can come on because of a brake pedal switch / stop fuse fault, as it is an input signal to the ABS module.

Most likely you have a short to ground elsewhere - your trailer connection, a rubbed wire, a shorted brake light bulb even (rare, but it can happen), stop switch, or even the shift lock solenoid itself, listed in the order of probability.
