Hey everyone. I noticed the other day that my brake lights aren't coming on as soon as they used to (I back into my garage at night and can see when they illuminate). I had X-Line Powerbrakes installed about two months ago, but I have no idea if the problem started then or not (My first assumption is that it did). With the added stopping power of the Powerbrakes, I am stopping quicker and sooner than ever before, but the brake lights do not activate unless I am really pushing down on the pedal. I could come to a complete stop under normal braking situations without my brake lights coming on at all I believe which is an obvious problem.

Most of the research I've done online just shows people replacing the brake light activator switch in the pedal, and there doesn't seem to be anything directly related to Powerbrakes causing this issue.

What else can I trouble-shoot on my own? I am not getting any dash lights or other problems.

    Thanks.

So instead of taking the post down, I figure I’d do an update.

so I’m not sure if the brake light actuator was adjusted during the powerbrake install (I don’t know why it would be) but I fixed the issue by removing the brake light actuator behind the pedal and adjusted it all of the way in (it’s adjustable, I put it in as deep as it goes). My brake lights now turn on much sooner and in concert with my brakes engaging.

There was not a lot of info on the internet, but most vehicles use the same style of actuator so the video I watched was from a Corolla or something.
