Brake Line Length with 3" of Lift??

    I was thinking about this after doing my new lift. If I wanted to upgrade to SS brake lines what length should I run? I was on Autoanything.com and they have the Goodridge G-Stop SS brake line kit in 3 lengths. They standard, 2" extended, and 4" extended. I know the 4" won't work, but what about the 2" set?

    the 4 should be fine... you could have a 2ft one....it would be way excessive but it would still work....

    I guess I was thinking 4" extension was more than what is needed on a 3" lift. I didn't want to have a to much extra brake line under the truck when driving. Make sense:confused:

    Don't forget that suspension travel may be more than 3 inches with a 3 inch lift. If you feel you have extra- Just zip tie it up out of the way...Better to have too much than no enuf...Brake fluid is a bitch to clean up and it's hard to stop the truck without it!!

    Is it necessary to extend the brake lines with 2" or 2.5" lift coilovers and 1.5" lift AAL in back? It's something I overlooked when ordering my lift but lift parts are on the way. How much lift can the stock brake lines handle?

    From everything I've read/heard so far- it's not a HUGE deal if you don't do them and you are doing light to moderate offroading. If you bought new rear springs-It would be a different story.

    That being said-With the entire underside of the truck ripped apart...Why not get them installed?? Better brake feel, fresh fluid, and suspension travel...

    This is pretty much where I am at as well. I do not necessarily need the extended brake so much as I want to get rid of the spongy feel in the pedal and to have more confidence in braking.

    Edit-After my smart ass comment- I went to the truck and looked. It just lists some fluid numbers and says use DOT3...with no amount. There must be a set amount that can be flushed into the system...Any ideas??

    Well, I only have 3500 miles on my 09 so I really don't need to freshen up the brake fluid yet.

    How long are the lines? Are they equal to 2" or 4" of extension than stock lines?

    My aal is the 3-pack from Wheelers.:thumbsup: So far no issues.I haven't YET flexed out my back end.I'll still cut off the end bracket.:cool: Stretching?? More info please.:)
