I wonder why? Somethings you just can't make up.

Did Toyota just build trucks this way until yesterday? Have they changed the design?

Seems odd that they didn't include the rest of them. One wouldn't think the extra 1/2" would really "solve" the issue for the ones with the bigger wheels.

So the Limited, TH, and Pro with 18" wheels are OK because they have an extra half-inch of clearance?

Do all hybrids have 18" wheels too?

Or maybe those have braided lines to start with (I suppose that's all they're going to do)

So... if we change wheels from 18" to 17" we are going to have a problem and not be covered. Thanks Toyota.

Yeah I know this is the 4th gen section.

1st reported issue here was back in July. I'm wondering when and if Toyota changed production to address the issue on trucks coming out of the factory. Presuming a truck built today would not be subject to the recall.

    Edit

I'm guessing the fix hasn't been announced yet?

Came looking for info on this. Put deposit down on 2025 TRD Offroad, made travel arrangements to go pick it up and an hour later was told there is a stop-sale on that model. :)

They need to post the VIN ranges. My truck is not in this recall according to the Toyota search site.

No "remedy" listed, does this mean they don't know what to do to fix it?

Have them deal on a hybrid OR instead. 18” wheels, problem solved.

Well I be. Just looked at my local dealers website and sure as shit the only "available" Tacoma's are Sport's and Limited. They had a good many Offroad's and SR5's last week and I know they didn't sell them all that quick.
