Yeah, it looks like it’s just a slightly shorter line resulting in a tighter radius. I figured this would be the only reasonable solution, otherwise they probably would have needed to change a lot of different things up the line, like bracket hard points, placement of caliper, different caliper design, etc. in order to avoid the need for a long loopy flex line.

There’s no technical challenge with switching to discs. Toyota already has disc brakes on solid axles with tidy, well designed routing that limits snag risk and uncontrolled movement of the line. For example, 5th gen 4runner

even though it's not the news I would've hoped for, it is nice to have something more concrete, even if it's just a ballpark. I'm currently driving a 2015 four-cylinder Tacoma, and I'm really looking forward to an upgrade to basically every system in the truck. Definitely eager to have disc brakes all around, as adjusting drum breaks isn't my favorite procedure.

Oh agreed, would be much nicer if my '08 hadn't been destroyed and I was just waiting for a new one for fun. Luckily the wife is not working at the moment so I am able to use her RAV4. I still can't believe that the guy who signed the day prior for the other 2024 at the dealership was able to drive his home but because I hadn't completed the paperwork they had to stop the sale of mine and now it's just reserved.

I picked up a 25 OR last week. Here are some photos of the updated brake line. IMG_6055.jpg IMG_6056.jpg IMG_6057.jpg IMG_6058.jpg IMG_6059.jpg IMG_6060.jpg

So they just made it shorter? Makes sense, I guess. Hopefully it doesn't make it too hard to deal with the caliper come brake job time.

I wonder if they plan on retrofitting the trucks with something other than 17" wheels to the shorter hoses once they take care of the currently recalled ones.

Mike yes as they will expand the recall once they get somewhat caught up.

You'd think if it's just a shorter hose they could implement the fix faster, I'm still being told it'll be mid-end of May before I can pick my truck up. Oh well, maybe it'll come quicker than they are saying, fingers crossed

I might not get the recall done, I never off road, will never see a dirt road and have next to no snow

Yeah, I got a pretty good deal on a 2024 but they cant release it until the issue is resolved so I don't have a choice. Also I do go off-road a fair amount and a lot of winter driving. I'd still get it done if I were you once its readily available

No downside to doing it at your next oil change. Only upside.

Anyone received an estimate on when dealers will be able to start doing repairs on stop sale vehicles? 2nd quarter of the year was the guidance, which is april 1, and the letter from Toyota regarding fix availability was supposed to come out early April.

I was told mid May by my local Dealer where I have a 2024 TRD Off Road on hold. (I’m in Canada)

How certain is your dealership on this timeline? I asked my sales rep today he said there is not a confirmed information regarding the timeline for the fix. (Also in Canada)
