Well, dealer no longer saying mid-May - straight up just says they have no idea and that you’ll probably be able to buy a 2025 sooner than a 2024 if it’s awaiting the fix and sounds like their 2025s are due in at the end of June - Like WTF Toyota, so fucking lame

    Not surprising.

They had a recall on 3rd gens back in late 2016 on the rear differential gasket being torqued too tight at the factory. rear diffs were leaking some very bad some weeping. Dealers held trucks until the gaskets were in. Some waited a year. But the average was 7 months. Mine was only weeping and I purposely did not take my truck in for service so they wouldn't confiscate it. I ended up trading it in December of 2017 and hey still had not got the parts in for the recall yet.

Once they have your money, no need to hurry the recall process.

My dealership said the same thing. They sold me a 2025 trd or premium 2 weeks ago with 5k cad off msrp to compensate for the wait.

If I could I would, I’m 6’ 4” and don’t fit in any with a sunroof, and need a 6’ bed - pretty much narrows it down to SR5 - TRD Sport - or TRD OR. Wanted the locking diff but seriously considering a Sport at the moment.

Yeah, they don't have my money yet (well $1000 holding the truck for me but that's refundable) so I'd think they would have some incentive to get a fix quick. If only 10% of theme are unsold that's still 1/2 a billion dollars in trucks kicking around on lots.

I'm in the same boat. Bought but no money down until delivery. At this point feeling somewhat like a sucker for having bought in the early days of the recall, but at the time the dealer was very enthusiastic about dealing, so I got a great price and now I just have to wait. It will come. My current 2nd gen is doing fine. I'd hoped to have the new one for towing my camper for a couple weeks in early June but looks like that's out now.

I wish, my 2nd gen was totalled in early feb - there’s a “used” 2024 I found recently with 2500km (dealer demo I think) I’m considering it at the moment but they want $5k more than what I can get a new one for if I wait. Dealers being leaches cause they know you can’t buy one new at the moment.
