Didn't say anything about size. This will go away. Stickies should be about things that don't. IMHO. This will self sticky until it doesn't need to.

Edit: That really doesn't explain that other thread. I have lost track and interest of what that was supposed to be about.

Had Toyota got it right the 1st time they wouldn't have to do it right the 2nd time. It's not like it was a supplier issue where they got some part out of spec this was an oversight in design. I can't expect Toyota or any manufacturer to shut down the line until the new part is designed that just won't happen. Does that mean trucks are still being built with brake lines that will need to be replaced?

Yep, they're not going to shut down assembly for a brake line replacement. I say the Toyo chepos installed a rubber line to avoid pluming/routing the brake lines, correctly, with copper tubes.

Great pic and thanks for sharing! I’m curious if all the TRD-OR non-premium trim, with 17” wheels, will be affected, or only certain ones?

I’m (supposed to be) picking up my new truck this week, I’ve contacted my salesman and he mentioned nothing about this. I also entered my VIN in the Toyota.com/recall search bar and it came up clean…

I put extended rear lines on my 3rd gen. No scan tool needed. Just gravity bled them with no issues. The dealer on the other hand….??

The reality of all this is that 99.9% of G4 owners are not going to go mudding enough for this to be an issue.

I’m still not 100% sure than just 1/2” of clearance on a cheap rubber hose will be enough in the long run if you actually go off-roading… @ROBMOTIVE YouTube channel did a great video showing this…

This, 100%. I am not one bit concerned about this for my truck.

If you live or travel where it snows the buildup inside your rims will potentially damage that line.

So I got this recall notice via the toyota app for my SR5. It has dealer installed 18” wheels but my dealer told me when there is a fix they will do the recall on my truck anyways.

Super, waiting for mine. If you can, after the work is done, can you post a picture? I would like to see how they fixed it. Thanks in advance.

It doesn't matter where you drive. It's a piss poor design destine for failure. You can even pinch the brake line just by remounting your wheel.

I’m surprised this hasn’t happened yet because if you don’t line up the studs, you can drop the whole wheel onto the exposed brake line.

It may have! We just haven't heard about it. Also, there's probably not that many goobers bashing their wheels around like that quite yet. Even those that are probably are the same ones that argue they don't need to worry because they "just won't do that." They are, of course, also the same goobers that argue they don't need to wear their seatbelts because "they're not gunna crash."
