I noticed some Drips under the truck in that garage the other day. It has never leaked anything before. Popped the hood and the master cylinder was leaking where it attaches to the brake booster. I guess this is a normal ware part. It’s been in the truck for 165k miles. Should I go with a auto zone one or go buy OEM? This is on a 02 if that makes a difference.

couple of things to watch out for... if she has ABS that should be a different MC. It there is brake fluid inside the booster it will eventually eat away and damage that. Make sure you do not damage the MC to booster seal when you put the MC back on. If the price difference between factory and aftermarket isnt too great put a Toyota MC in. It is simply a matter of preference.

OEM parts are always far better quality, especially when it comes to Toyota parts.

It does not have abs. It did not run dry. When I noticed the leak and checked. The brake fluid was just below the full mark. I filled it back up to the full mark and it has just dropped a little in almost a week.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
Everything that the fluid has leaked on (booster, firewall, frame, etc) will have the paint peel off. Brake fluid is very caustic to paint.

Suggest getting your new MC, remove the old one, clean all parts affected with a neutralizing solution, blow dry and shoot with some Rustoleum type product in the color of your choice.

While waiting for the paint to dry, bench bleed the new master. Then install. It's a good time to do a full brake fluid change as well, if it's not been done in a year or two.
