My brakes squeak when I let off of the brake petal. It sounds like it’s coming from the rear drums. Does anyone know what could be causing this sound?

Lots of bits in the rear drums that deserve to be cleaned, adjusted and lubricated regularly. And if you off road, fairly often.

When was the last time you opened them up?

Actually I don’t think they have been opened since they were changed. I mean nothing can happen if they are dirty they are going to get replaced soon anyways. But is it hard to take them off and spray them down

    Not at all.

And while clearing out any yuck is good, while you are in there adjusting and lubing the proper points is just a few minutes more effort.

If you aren't comfortable with this, maybe find a local group having a tech day and have someone look over your shoulder and guide you.

Alright, thank you. I’ll juat find some time today and give it a look: and what’s the torque rating for putting the drum brake back on and for the lugnuts

Looking won't normally tell you much. Have a plan to adjust and lube as well.

Lugnuts are what holds the drum on. 85 or 90# IIRC.

I would check your driveline too. I had a squeak thought it was the drums and turns out it was a dry seal at the pinion flange. Best way to find out is chock the fronts, jack up the rear and kick it in drive
