Mkay so It was my first time changing oil on any vehicle, on my tacoma(4.0L prerunner D-CAB Automatic 2011), the maintenance required light came on, the one that blinks then goes out not the one that stays on. So after I changed it I tried to reset the odometer thing like the manual says but the light still comes on after i start the engine, then goes out again, I attempted like 5 times, I dont know, maybe I have to drive a couple miles before it goes out or realizes i replaced the oil filter and added 5.5 quarts of 5W-30 like it says. Also, after changing the oil, i noticed after braking and coming to a stop, i tried accelerating and the truck just jumped, like it skipped a gear, sometimes when i brake and then stop i feel the truck vibrating and i could feel it through the steering wheel, this got me worried but my truck is up for the free maintenance and hopefully the dealership can spot and fix the problem, just curious if any gear heads out there would know what the deal is, thanks for any information

Hope your dealer doesn't notice engine oil is double filled and the auto tranny is half empty 'cause I doubt they'll allow coverage for mechanic errors like that.

Either that, or I hope I'm wrong. But if I'm not, you can take some small solace in knowing you're not alone at least.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
the newer 11s w/ the white gauges have a slightly different sequence to turn off the maint. required light. as for the other stuff, i'd take a pic under the truck and point to which plug you pulled.

I think tranny fluid cover should come in Pink color. :D Its bad when people can not distinguish between tranny and engine

just make sure you didnt drain any trans fluid, there is no dipstick for the trans and alot of people get the drain plugs mixed up
