Has anyone experienced a brake override malfunction on a 2016 Tacoma SR5? The car drives at a snail’s pace...

If so how was it resolved.

    Please help

Low voltage (dead battery) can trigger a lot of codes, things like the ABS module have to report them to the driver.

Charge the battery, then disconnect it and reconnect, it should clear a good chunk of the faults until you are able to visit the dealer.

Did you install any accessories like pedal commander? Try taking it off. I read before that you turn off the truck for 5 to 10 minutes then restart it 10 times . Some says it fixes it. Good luck. Let us know how it goers and how the dealer resolved your issues

Mine happened when my aftermarket light got water in it and popped the brake fuse. Truck wouldn’t start when that fuse was popped. Easy fix once I figured out what the problem was. Panic until that point.

I had the brake override malfunction error yesterday on my '19 SR. I tried turning off and on probably 10 times. I was concerned it was my ovtune, but I got the error to go away. Maybe just a fluke, but I removed my add a fuse for my foglights and it worked. The add a fuse was tapped into the ignition spot. was able to actually drive the truck since it wasn't in limp mode. I still had a check engine light. P219 throttle body actuator. Reset the code, hasn't returned yet. Not sure what or how the add a fuse caused that to happen, but I encourage anyone to remove the add a fuse if they have problems. As I was sitting on the side of the road I saw posts from people with pedal commanders causing issues but I have ovtune and it's a bit harder to remove unless you have a laptop and an internet connection. I'll chime in again if the issue returns, but I'm finding a different spot for my add a fuse.

Just happened to me today. First day on the 87 base tune. Drove great for about 20 miles with a couple stops and re-starts. Then down along country road boom CEL, Trac off, and brake override malfunction. Truck drove like shit. Pulled over, shut down and started back up. No more brake malfunction message on the MID but still CEL and Trac off lights. Drove home cleared code (P2119) and been ok since. WTF? Anything to do with ovtune? Or is my throttle sensor bad...and yours. No add a fuse here.

Nope nothing to do with tune. @Cav_BluTRD had the same issue, it was sticking throttle body and replaced under warranty.

What @Shellshock said. No tune issue. Stuck throttle body.

Ha this exact thing happened after approximately 30 miles on the OVtune 87 base tune. Got it out of limp mode. Put the stock tune back in, drove it for a couple days and the put the 91 base tune in and no problems with it yet.

Well that's hard to swallow given less than 300 miles on the truck. Happened again today but took like 3 times to clear the code with my scanner. Got back home and flashed back to stock 04B31. I guess a visit to the dealership is in order. I'll take a look at the throttle valve tomorrow. This sucks! Truck is F'ing dangerous when this happens. Can't leave home without the scanner.
I really miss my 2003 now. Especially the actual throttle cable! And the manual tranny....

How many miles without issues? This shit happened twice in two days now. Only about 5 miles on stock tune so far.

I probably have over 100 miles on the 91 octane base tune now.
