Yeah, that seems like it would've been the right thing to do. It only cost me $10 for the cleaner and about 15 minutes to clean it. Which I'm sure would've only taken the dealer 5 minutes to clean.

This happened to me yesterday night after work in my company truck, I pulled over the fwy to empty the bladder and once I got back in the truck it wasn’t going on drive, I stared throwing all the beer cans over the fwy bridge just in case chp pulled up, turned off and on a couple times and looked under the hood but nothing. I couldn’t get out of P . So I just hit the override and took off home and hoped it was nothing major, like other post here mine was solve with replacing 10a fuse, I’ve been needing a new bulb so I’m sure that’s the issue on mine,

What a good story, glad that was an easy fix! After checking my fuses just now, unfortunately for me they're all in good shape.

What exactly are you referring to? Is it a fuse. I am going to replace the throttle body as soon as the part comes in.

Problem solved! My C.E.L. and brake override malfunction issue started a day after I replaced my spark plugs. I told the toyota dealership that the problem could have been caused by the spark plug change. They didn't listen what I had to say, they had my truck in for diagnostics for 6 days, then told me I needed a new throttle body for $1,200. I replaced the throttle body myself but it did not fix the issue. I decided to re-do my spark plug change with the OEM spark plugs rather that the aftermarket Autolite iridium xp I put in before this problem started. This fixed the issue!

In summary my engine malfunctioned due to not having compatible spark plugs. Use OEM spark plugs! Even tho these spark plugs were supposed to be compatible with my engine, according to autozone and my research, they were not.

    *OEM left, aftermarket Autolite right

I had that same code and it was a bad cell in my battery. Battery replaced and code cleared.

Took the truck in for 5k scheduled maintenance today, which was really only checking fluids and rotating tires. Fifteen miles later, I get these error codes and the truck is stuck in park. Now it's getting towed to the dealer. I have no electrical mods. Nice.

Just had this happen (07/04/2022) while going up parking garage incline in Orlando on vacation. Fighting my anger, ate dinner with wife after searching online and stumbled unto you guys. I cycled (turned on/off) six + times and clearing CEL, was able to get to hotel. We'll see what tomorrow brings... Got home without hitch. Now, however, I have lost confidence in taking this truck anywhere. With my former 1997 that I parted with, I had no reservations esp. over the brakes. I am seriously pissed...this has reared its ugly head in Tundras, Siennas and Tacomas from what I have researched WTF???

****UPDATE 07/07/2022**** Had this problem out of the blue this am, after 'behaving' for two days...I got the truck home in limp mode at no more than 25mph. I took off the air cleaner, disconnected battery, and loosened the clamp where this large rubber intake hose attaches to the MAF assembly, when loosening the bolt, I discovered it (large hose clamp has 10mm screw) was only finger tight. Also, when I attached my OBD code reader, the reader displayed a P2122 code as well.

At any rate, I sprayed some MAF cleaner at the 'butterfly' assembly, sprayed the plug, and reassembled. I reattached clamp somewhat tighter than I had originally found it. After a slightly rough start, the engine resumed a proper idle. I reattached the OBD code reader and confirmed that the codes had cleared as well.

Anyone have what might be a quick field solution to starting up the truck with this issue? Currently on a trail west of Lone Pine with this issue that won't start. Drove it pretty hard today, so I'm gonna let it sit overnight with the battery unplugged and see what happens. No transmission or engine codes.

This was a tried and true method to get unstuck if one of your wheels is spinning, but the limited slip functionality of 3rd gens works really well.

Yea, thanks I'll check that STOP fuse in the morning after it's been sitting in the cold with no battery tonight. I drove a solid 5 hours in 100 degree heat today, so he deserves a break lol

zcweisman keep us posted, when I had the issue, I cycled the start button six (6) times. It cleared the code but immediately lit back up. My truck did start, it just never drove past or higher than 25mph. If you have an OBD code reader get it. The code P2122 had nothing to do with the brakes in my situation.

When I saw the loose bolt on the rubber manifold, I immediately suspected that as the cause...

I did have a code reader and surprisingly had no codes. I went and swapped the STOP fuse this morning and thankfully it started up. I probably would have been panicking more if there were codes since I'm up a creek right now with no front recovery points.

My first step probably was going to be to check the ABS sensors or something like that
