    Hello!

I have searched the forums, but can't seem to find anything specific to my issue...

My truck just returned from a frame swap. Aside from a magnitude of scratches on the paint (which I have decided to let slide) and spending over 2 months at the shop. Anyways, I have noticed my brake pedal assembly itself seems very loud when letting off the brakes. There's a metal on metal "clack".

I called and asked, but the dealership states no work is done there, and everything comes out whole with the cab. The noise was likely "pre-existing".

I got looking around under my dash, to the best of what I can tell, the arm of the brake pedal is connecting with a bolt as indicated by the arrow I have added to a stock photo below:

I don't think I am crazy, I never remember my brake pedal being so noisy... it's very annoying in stop and go traffic, even some passengers have commented on it.

I was wondering if anyone has the time to look under their dash and see if there is a rubber stop on the bolt, or if the brake pedal arm is resting on the bolt indicated in the photo? I would much appreciate a reference to try and diagnose this. Thanks for your time!

Ill try and get a video up shortly of the noise too... maybe it is normal for these trucks and I've just forgotten how loud it is.

    Cheers

Well... mystery solved, took it back to dealership. Dealership states it was the wrong bolt... likely a fender bolt or something. They swapped in a shorter bolt and all is well. They still say it wasn't them, no work was done in that area during frame swap, and the noise was likely pre-existing. Either way, I'm not chasing answers, I am just glad to have a brake pedal thats not all clunky sounding.
