When the brake pedal is pushed it feels as though it is binding or stiff at the pivot point(linkage). Once past that point it is smooth. Brakes work fine as far as stopping, but less stopping power due to rear drum brakes(compared to disc all the way around on the car). Not sure if it is rubbing or is there an electric switch or switches for brake lights or whatever connected to the pedal linkage. I guess I should look myself but it is under warranty. Just wondered if this is normal?

Never noticed that on mine. You may want to take it in and show them what you are experiencing.

I have the same exact thing in the one I just bought a week ago. Thought that is a weird feeling. Like a light rough spot then smoothes out.

Its rather annoying every time I hit the brakes. Might it be the button switch(or whatever type) for the push button start? Naturally the dealership didn't think it was anything out of the ordinary. Maybe over time it will loosen up. I have less than 600 miles on it.

I took it to the dealer and they said they didn’t see or feel anything abnormal. My truck has 323 miles on it. But it’s like a bind then get past that and everything starts working smooth. So this morning I went under the dash and started looking at the linkage. I can see a linkage piece that is supposed to rotate and move another linkage is actually sliding to the right (towards the gas pedal) then binds close to the mushroomed end of the pin, can’t slide over anymore then starts to rotate as it should. I placed a screwdriver to hold the linkage in place and it started to work smooth like it should. As this price slides to the right to tilts a bit then binds because it can not tilt anymore and is forced to rotate as it should or was designed to. I took pictures to show you the operation of what I am seeing.

From your photos it looks like you tried to lube it. Sorry everyone else has the problem but at least I'm not the only one and glad I brought this to everyone's attention.

Nope. Didn’t lube it. That was there. Just took pics. One thing else I noticed is the other end of the linkage is doing the same thing on the piece it connects to.

And how did you measure that?

Don't get me wrong. Rear discs would be nicer to service.

But drums are not the evil many proclaim them to be.

You can take a look at mine if you like...I don't have this issue, so you can compare. Then again I don't have push to start either tho, if that linkage is related to that

If the pin will pop out easily, try some washers to fill the space and reduce the movement. Shims as it were.

Don't make it tight. Add one at a time to see if you can make it work as you like.

Worst case is you remove them all.

Just drove by your house 1/2 hour ago, If I had known I would have stopped in. But it might just be a push button issue.

Most of us with the issue have new 19's under warranty. Just curious if we all have push button start?

There's another silver 17 like mine, he's from W island. I saw maybe 2nd gen black one hauling shrubs and bushes to the town dump all morning over by Steinhoff park.

My roller or cam is clearly over to the right side where you screw driver is, with the grease on the left of the roller toward the arm.

I have push button start. The part is the cantilever that connects to the upper part that actually pushes in the brake booster rod.
