Same here, man . Just to confirm, when you press the pedal, you can feel some very subtle clicking/vibrating into place under your foot on initial press and braking otherwise seems normal? (notchy) And the pedal feels loose overall?

    Hard to explain exactly...
At the very top of the pedal travel it feels notchy; like you have to press the pedal 1/4-1/2" to get past a rough spot then the pedal feels normal. You can almost hear it click or pop past that initial rough spot at the top. In addition, the pedal kind of feels loose at the top position before depressing it. It sort of reminds me of my Dad's old 80's Ford truck; for years and years you have get the pedal past a hard spot at the top, it pops then the brakes feel totally normal.

You just explained my issue, exactly. I do not accept the assessment that it is normal especially because it happened out of the blue on mine.

Little update: my wife has been driving the truck the last couple days (she loves it) and confirmed as well she can sometimes feel something in the pedal depending on how she depressed brake with her foot, but braking otherwise feels very safe, smooth, and normal.

Now at least I know we are not crazy. However, I usually feel it all the time .

I have the OR model and I was 100% able to replicate the feeling I described earlier sitting in my driveway/no radio/AC.

If I slowly push the brake pedal down I can hear/feel some pedal feedback (notch) while something is energizing underneath about every three depressions of the pedal. It must be that electric booster, priming the system or something.

    Thanks

Guess my SR5 decided to switch out boosters on me in middle or driving ! ;). I've detemermined something in the pedal mechanism likely needs to be lubed. When in park with everything off, if pressed slowly you can hear/feel what sounds like something rubbing or grinding in pedal. Been 600 miles since things changed in the pedal and hasn't gotten worse. Gonna make sure someone sits in with me at my next service, if I can tolerate it that long.

I'm currently driving an '18 DCSB 4x4 SR loaner from the dealership and the pedal feels and sounds identical to my SR5. Seems as though this may be "normal" fellas.

Interesting. Again, for me, the fact that it came 5000 miles in on mine makes me think otherwise. Why are you driving a new truck?

My 18 DCSB OR brake pedal feel is solid, better than I thought it would be, but I'll stay tuned in case anything interesting pops up . I may have 300 miles on the truck, but I would have noticed a pedal feedback like described here.

Welp, maybe I should just shut my mind up and enjoy my drive. Off to 10K...

I'm actually bringing my truck back in on Saturday morning. I can't stand it, it's incredibly annoying. This is what I put in my service details:

-Brake pedal not smooth when pressed. Vibration/notchiness/feedback felt in pedal/ within first 1/2" of pressing; pedal feels loose. Mostly noticeable in stop and go traffic; can hear and feel when in park. Started occurring at 5,100 miles, a couple days after 5K service. Brought in to Atlantic, techs stated that all was normal. Pedal was previously smooth and firm when pressed.

-Vibration during deceleration in 30-10mph range
    -Vibration during braking (inconsistent)

I made my appointment for first thing in the morning so that I can make sure I have a tech sit with me in the truck.

Can confirm this feeling is present on other SR5, however it was much more pronounced in mine. Tech adjusted rear drums. Notchiness still present, but brake pedal travel and firmness is much, much better.
