The last few days I feel like the brake pedal goes almost all the way to the floor. The truck stops fine but the pedal just travels father than normal. No leaks that I can tell and the fluid level is up to max. Its a 2021 SR5 with 2k miles. Not sure if it's just that I'm used to my 04 Taco or what, but i think i would have noticed it earlier. Any ideas?

Wouldn't hurt to bring it back in to be looked at. My 2017 are some of the quickest brakes to firm up that I've ever used. Could be something as simple as the rear shoes need to be adjusted.

This thing has overly touchy brakes no way should it go “almost to the floor” get it checked

My guess is, possibly air in the brake lines maybe. I would try bleeding it and see if that helps out.

Don't do anything, it's under warranty. Bring it to the dealer.

Stopped by the dealer yesterday and found out that on Saturdays they only do appointments. The service writer lady made me an appt for Monday but she asked to look at it herself. She drove it in the lot and overly agreed somethings not right. We'll see tomorrow!

Keep in mind that you have a completely different brake system than the SR5. The ORs and Pros have the electric boosters which results in a much firmer and toucher brake feel than the standard vacuum assist boost.

Please report findings. Dealership work is under my scrutiny.

Please look at the area worked before you leave the service department. Make sure all connections and panels removed are put back exactly as they are intended.

I had a skid plate put back on and over-torqued/bolt screwed back in at an angle and Ops checked good...really annoying when simple tasks are rushed or not cared about.

That's the time to question the integrity of the work done.

I thought that was due to the safety sense … which is standard for the entire line now

If you had a firm pedal since new and now have the pedal dropping to the floor, with no signs of leaks and the master cylinder is full, I would suspect the master cylinder is bypassing internally. I would suggest not driving the vehicle until it is resolved. You may find the brakes might not hold and you get into an accident. Driving a vehicle with a known brake issue could be costly.

Went to the dealer and got the issue fixed. I don't work on drum brakes so I fully didn't understand the issue but I'll post a pic of the receipt. They basically said that a retainer clip was installed incorrectly on my left rear drum brake. He said it would have happened at the factory. The brakes work excellent now.

The part with the red arrow was not installed correctly and the part with the yellow arrow was turned all the way in, leaving excessive travel in the assembly causing the pedal to drop to the floor.20211004_122009.jpg

Jeeps never have that issue in the initial 90 days of ownership. :anonymous:

mine's done that since new. often i'll be sitting at a light and the brake pedal will just go down 2 inches on its own....kinda scary when you don't have much pressure applied to the pedal.
