    Hi ya'all
    I need some help!!
We have a 2011 Toyota Tacoma and the brake pedal will continue to go to the floor after you stop.
We have change the brake pads, master cylinder, flushed the lines, checked the fuses to the ABS - nothing seems to help.
The dealer service rep told me that it is "normal" for these Tacoma's and even the new Tundra's to do this as they all have an "electronic braking system".
Have any of you experienced this?? And if so, what have you done to make it stop?
I appreciate any and all help -we are stumped right now and don't know what to do.
    Thank you,
    Kimzjoi

Is there a master cylinder or some other hydraulic cylinder similar to a clutch?

A master change and line flushes are very difficult to be successful with if you don't have Techstream to properly cycle the ABS system in the process.

I don't know what order your parts were changed in, but I'd start on the path to correction with a proper bleeding.

And no, the pedal should not sink to the floor. The chuckehead who told you that should be reported. It's dangerous.

Keep in mind. Some service writers are former techs who have some savvy and give reasonable thoughts. Ones who are smart, but don't know answers don't make stuff up, they let the techs solve the problem.

Ones who are not tech savvy, other than a few terms, but like selling services, well, they can be chuckleheads.

We have replaced the wheel cylinders, rotors, brake pads, master cylinder, all new fluid in the brake line, and adjusted the pedal....we checked the fuses too.....all of this in the last two weeks....so needless to say we are stumped as to why it is still slipping

There are brake cylinders within the interior of the rear brake drums > if they leak or weep fluid out of them... If they are damaged... this will cause the exact problem you are describing.
A new Master cylinder is all fine and good but check to see if you are losing brake fluid...

IF there are no leaks / fluid loss........... pretty simple really

Your new master is bad (reman?) or the system is not properly bled.

You put in a whole new master cylinder already and its still doing that? IIRC a cause of this could be worn/leaking seals on the interior of the master cylinder. The push rod for the master cylinder is okay im assuming, got me stumped. Was the new master cylinder OEM new or some sort of rebuild?

Replacing everything worn, broken, and rusted.
+1 for bleeding the brakes. I did that to mine when I first got it, because the pedal would hit the floor and it would still roll at bit!! Never assume someone did it right the last time. After bleeding was alot better, but still got new pads and calipers.

There is a part of me that thinks the shop is taking OP for a ride. Thats alot of brake work.

also, he bench bled the new master cylinder before putting it into the truck right? Correctly, without overextending it. I would hope so!

Was the master cylinder new from Toyota, aftermarket or rebuilt? We have seen MANY problems with the aftermarket and rebuilt units.
Sometimes an ABS event (meaning you find some gravel or dirt and stop hard enough for the ABS to activate) can clear up your issues, there may be some debris in the ABS hydraulic unit causing your problem. Although not as common on Toyota, GM has had many issues with failed ABS hydraulic units failing and causing the "pedal falling" symptom.
