I had a 2017 TRD Sport 4x2 before this and didn’t have any problems, but I recently traded it in for a 2019 TRD Offroad 4x4 and the brakes are extremely touchy. Almost unpleasant to drive on road and off road. On road I have to really concentrate in order to smoothly come to a stop without the truck jerking, Offroad while going downhill the brakes lock up sometimes. I took it to Toyota and they said the parking brake had been over tightened from the factory and it was fixed. It’s still doing it. Thoughts? Trucks got about 3500mi

The brakes are touchier due to using a different booster than the sport. Your sport also may have been a part of the booster recall, and you may have never gotten it fixed.

It's pretty normal for the Offroad and Pro brakes to be more touchy. I test drove a Sport and then test drove the OR, and was really surprised by how touchy they were. It has to do with the brake booster that is used for the various off road features. Don't worry, you will get used to it. I actually like it now because it feels like I will be able to stop when I need to.

Thanks for the thought. I guess I’ll just have to get used to it. It can be really bad sometimes. I had the front wheel off earlier and noticed that the front brakepads only had one retaining clip. Is that normal? It looks like there should be 2 per side. I’ll post a picture when I can.
