    Hi, this is my 1st post.
    I have two questions I'm hoping to get some help with:

    I have a 1995 Tacoma V6 4x4 that needed new inner bearing seals done.
    I replaced everything in the rear end; bearings, o rings, abs retainers, wheel cylinder, brakes and then rusty brake lines going to each rear wheel. This is where I have now ran into a problem;
    I bought a vacuum brake bleed kit from Princess Auto that didnt seem to work all that good, so resorted back to have someone step on the peddle and bleed it that way. I was then getting all new brake fluid and no more air. I put the wheels back on, test drove the truck and the brakes are super spongey.
    I was worried that the new pads didn't set, so jacked up the truck again and took the wheels off, adjusted the brake pads from the hole in the backing plate. Bled all four wheels again and still have spongy brakes.
    Q1.Wondering where to go from here? Should I keep bleeding them?

    I'm also having trouble with the E-brake. I gapped the stud off the backing plate at 0.020" and the cable for the E-brake in the cab pulls more than 20 clicks.
    Q2. Wondering if it's due to my brakes not being set yet? Or if it means that I should increase or decrease the gap of the bell crank stud?

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

    I am in the exact same position. All new (both sides) bearings, seals, and brakes.

    Did you also lose some pedal height? Maybe that is the spongy part your talking about. My pedal goes down much further than before. Maybe as much as 2-3" further before the brakes begin to engage and then it feels like the rears aren't really doing their share of the work. I figured that they just aren't adjusted properly. Hadn't considered the possibility it might be air in the lines.

    Sounds like your brakes are not adjusted up enough this can be a pain to learn just what the proper drag is.

    unadjusted brakes will give a longer pedal travel but should still be firm.

    Also the long travel of the emergency brake also suggests brake shoes not adjusted correct.

    It is also possible you are drawing in air dirt in one of the connections

    All the bleeding in the world won`t help till you find where the air is coming in

    air in the system will always give the soft pedal

    I have never been able to get the bleeder in the LSPV broke loose being in the Northeast that can also be the problem.

    For what its worth, mine is now fixed. The new brakes just needed to be properly adjusted. In the process the pedal came back up to the correct height and e-brake now engages with the correct number of clicks, 7 or 8 clicks fully engages it.
