Everything. Ford f250 leaf springs, old welded cat exhaust, vice grip holding the slave clutch cylinder onto the bell, about half the body covered in truck bed liner...
Do I have to take the manual locking hub off in order to free the brake rotor on my 2000 4x4 tacoma?

I can't find a single video of this process with a 1st gen taco. Tons for 2wd, nonw for 4wd. Any direction appreciated.

Just take off 1 tire and see if the rotor falls out of place. The wheel and wheel nuts are what usually hold it all together.

No on the hub, you will just have to remove the caliper and possibly the caliper mounting bracket but I'm not sure on the bracket.

Remove the wheel, remove the two bolts on the back of the caliper, then the rotor will come right off.

I have the same setup, 4x4 w/ manual hubs.

    What he said...
You don't need to disconnect the brakeline, and you don't want to let the caliper 'hang' by the brakeline once you remove it. Use something to tie it off to the upper control arm...

I am personally a fan of a bucket. OR use a coat hanger to bend up a bracket to hang it from the control arm or coil.

    OP,
When you remove the caliper, stuff a deep well 11/16th socket into it length wise... between the pads. This will keep the caliper pistons from 'closing in' the pads and make it easier to install once the rotor is on. Remove the socket and quickly slide over the rotor.

    Good luck.
