Have brake shutter at low speed only when coming to a stop in 2022 Tacoma TRD Sport. Had the same thing in the 2020 TRD Off Road I traded in. I was told o my 2020 that it was the kevlar tires but that was BS for sure. I hoped that by 2022 it would have been solved. My brothers 2020 had the same problem. Well this 2022 has different tires and same issue. really frustrated with Toyota, they have this problem and still have it 2 years later. I am 66 yrs old and have had many cars and trucks in my life but none had this problem. Shame on you Toyota, $43000 for a truck with a continuing issue. Anyone had this issue and did maybe did your dealership fix it instead of just lip service? Thanks in advance.

It is most likely not your brakes , rear spring tension and driveline angles are usually the culprit , there is a tsb to help with this , not sure if a 2022 will be eligible , your service writer can check into that . Had it done on my 2018 sr5 and it helped a bit , also seemed to get better over time , I’ve also heard reports that putting a few hundred pounds in the bed settles it down

TSB only valid up to 2021's - https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10187246-9999.pdf
I had it done on my 2020 and it reduced the vibration quite a bit. Your's should already have the updated leaf springs to correct the driveshaft angle.

It's definitely not a brake problem even though it feels like it. When my 2018 had this, I had the dealer replace the front rotors. I checked the rear axle hubs per the TSB instructions (they were okay) and replaced the rear drums. It still did it when you pull the handbrake. It did seem to get better over time for some reason.

I have the same issue. Apparently that TSB doesn’t apply to TRD Off-Road trucks. Certainly a driveline angle issue, but the inconsistently grabby as hell brakes don’t help.

I had a similar issue with my 2020 when under 1500 miles....a light shutter when coming to a stop. I took the transmission out of gear to neutral then did the same applying the brakes coming to a stop. This time no shudder. Imo, its the converter breaking in. After more miles on the truck it got less, and less, till the point its been very smooth. This shutter never came back to this day. Truck runs unreal shifting very smooth. Except for the engine tone, and tach rpm, you cannot feel it changing gears.
