Recently bought my Tacoma. Drove it for about a month, and all of the sudden I had abs traction control and a triangle with an exclamation mark in it. Also when I turn the truck on it pops up brake override malfunction and check anti lock brake system. Any idea what that could be?

Any mods? What codes are being thrown? To provide any sort of direction, there's a bit more info you need to provide.

No codes are being thrown. When I bought it, it had a pedal commander on it and I immediately pulled it off. Thought that would solve the issue but it didn’t.

Have you scanned for codes? They could still be present, especially if it's flashing errors on your screen.

I'm also a little confused, you said pedal commander was installed when you purchased the truck, but you removed it immediately hoping that it would solve your problem, but your first post said you have had the truck for a month and then got the codes.

Did the initial issues occur with pedal commander installed?

Sorry when I bought the truck it had the commander in it. When the lights popped up I found it and pulled it out

You may just need a way to clear all the codes.

Give that a shot and I think you'll be good. Pedal commander is well known to cause problems like that.

Took it to my local Toyota dealership. The only thing they could come up with is the aftermarket led bulbs are causing it to short out somewhere.

That sounds like BS unless the previous owner tapped random wires to power aftermarket lights for some reason.

It sounds like if the dealership couldn't narrow it down then the codes were already gone when they checked the logs and they are just guessing. I would recommend getting an OBDLINK LX or MX Bluetooth reader and using your phone to see what codes pop up if it happens again.

Or if you want to go all in you can actually get a copy of Toyota Techstream (the diagnostic software Toyota dealerships use) either on Amazon or some people here have the links to free cracked versions in the signature (can't remember their names off the top of my head). Thought with Techstream you will need to also get one of the high speed cables to go with it to get full functionality. Bluetooth adapters just won't do it.

A pedal commander wouldn't, or shouldn't, trip the ABS light. If anything, you'd get a check engine light. I've used one in the past on a Subaru and no issues but have no plans to use it on the truck.

I mean, there has to be a code somewhere. At 80k, what else has been done to the truck?

Update. The previous owner had cut a wire on the passenger side to wire in the third brake light on the camper top, And it was rubbing medal. Which cause it to short out and blow fuses
