brake upgrade needed for 37s

    My truck sits on 37s and the stopping power sucks compared to factory.

    Power stop or sp performance rotors?
    Slotted or drilled and slotted rotors?
    Hawk super duty or Hawk LTS or hawk hps pads?
    I have no idea what kind of performance brake shoes I need?


    I will also be getting front and rear stainless steel brake lines and doing a brake fluid flush.

    For anyone recommending the rear disc conversion...I will not do this

    Ive had drilled and slotted rotors for a few years now and they made a big difference. I was going to use ebc pads but a guy at the parts store told me just to use oe style pads because tougher compound pads need more head and are more abrasive they could damage the rotor. Since drilled and slotted are designed to dissipate heat and gases faster it made since. I have 4wheel disc brakes now and they stop extremely fast. I used a 91 4×4 blazer front rotor and a 82monte carlo caliper and made a bracket. When I get up around 130 it feels like 70 did when it was stock.

    Those drilled and slotted rotors aren't doing anything for you other than killing your pad life and taking away from the contact area the rotor and pad needs to stop faster. And pads that create gasses is old technology just like asbestos made pads.

    That may be true but mine stopped a whole lot faster after I got them. That was good enough for me. When they wear out I'm going to try just drilled rotors

    How about.....Bigger axles with bigger diameter brakes, bigger calipers, bigger rotors, and a master cylinder with a bigger bore??

    I highly doubt spending all that money on specialized calipers, rotors, and pads are going to give you the improvements you expect.

    They run 30spline 8..... inch axles. I run a 79 8.8 in mine to support over 1000hp 32spline axles just like a ford 9in. The only reasons I changed mine was because it had a 7.5 like the supras and the limited slip was 500 $ and I got the 8.8 with a locker ,2 gear sets , and rear disc brake kit for 250 $ also the 8.8 was 4inches narrower so it made finding rims with slicks a whole lot easier. Befor I got it, the 79 was on 39.5 ×15.5 with 600hp 421sbc.
    A regear, light weight wheels, and drilled rotors with ebc green or yellow stuff rotors should be fine. Now the ifs axles I don't know too much about.
