I have not heard a squeak yet but interesting that you did on your car. I know my truck is heavy so maybe they get hot faster, but not sure. I definitely like these pad for my truck. No TRD pads for me ever again

less than 2500k miles later I have a really bad shimmy/shake from the front brakes already with the new calipers, cryostops and TRD pads. going to find a way to get it apart and figure out where its already giving issues.

Has anyone had recent experience with the EBC rotors? The stop-tech cryo rotors seem rare and expensive right now.

What has peoples experiences been lubricating the retaining pin and pad backings?

Started looking for Stoptech 126.44129s but seems like production is slow on the rotors right now. Looking into the Raybestos R-300 as a substitute as they're almost 1/3 the cost. Also trying to pick a pad - thinking about the Akebono ProACT as I've had no issues with those - almost zero dust and an OEM or slightly better feel to them. Good luck with those coming from Lexus performance pads.

Adding my experiences with Porterfield's R4-S - I ran these on my Supra for years and had absolutely horrible squealing at low speeds/pressures no matter what kind of shim setup/disc brake quiet product I used. They had a great bite and were quiet at everything but parking lot/low speed driving. Moderate dust.

    @crashnburn80

    hey man..
do you have any other preferred rotors other than the Stoptech slotted cryo rotors?

I got a right hand side rotor and pads for my 3rd gen T4R following guidance on your 1st gen Tacoma, but unfortunately stop Tech has no ETA for the right hand side rotor.
Current rotors are a bit warped, so the need is sooner than later.
Would definitely like some increased resistance to warping, and increased mass for the same reason — as I would not like to do any big break upgrades at this time.
    4Runner is stock.

    TYIA !

@Sterling_vH111, you may be able to give Centric a call and check to see if you can use a right hand rotor on both sides since the interior vanes aren't directional - it'd just be the slots sweeping a different way on either side.

I'm wondering how different the Centric 120.44129s (premium) and 320.44129s (GCX full coated) are to the Stoptechs in terms of geometry and weight. If I were running Centric I'd be using the same molds as a cost savings and send portions of those batches out for various post-processing.

    Makes sense.
Have to try and see if the non slotted PNs are the same for LH&RH maybe confirm.
    Good idea though.

I never use centric, I often see it as options on AutoZone, rockauto, ORiley’s, etc. kind of figured they were a more budget brand.
Have you had experience with their products?

I've used their standard C-TEK rotors and Posi-Quiet pads before and had no complaints - good performance and longevity, adequate for a daily driver. I never had any issues with warping rotors or the life of the brake pads. Since Stoptech is owned by Centric, I'm guessing they use the same foundry and the only differences are the coatings/treatments after the castings are produced.

I just found out that Project µ/Project Mu and Acre have brake pads and rotors that fit the Tacoma - too bad shipping from Japan doubles the cost.
