Probably the Safety Stuff they added for 2018. It means you are about to hit something

It’s your pre collision alert, a feature of Toyota safety sense. Sounds like your salesman did a stellar new vehicle delivery, lol. You can adjust the sensitivity.

Check the brake fluid. Toyota fluid level sensors can be picky, and if it's the slightest bit low, it can set the light.

It's your forward collision detection, if you feel it's too sensitive just lower the sensitivity in the settings. You can also turn it off completely in the settings

TSS probably thought the red lights were taillights.

Same thing happened to me last night, no cars in front of me going about 40 mph. It was right when I was turning the volume up on the stereo, BRAKE! Alarms beeping like crazy for a few seconds then nothing.

Had same thing happen to me today. Nothing in front of truck. Got my attention fast...... checked parking brake which was fully off and in down position. I know it was related to forward sensor hiccup.

Have you all had the safety recall done for the TSS sensor? They put sealant around it to keep out water and they also tune the sensitivity down through the ECU.

Correction, it wasn’t a safety recall. It is a “Special Service Campaign”. It won’t show up as a safety recall. Your Toyota dealership should automatically do the service during your service visit. Without it, your wave radar may not work and it may apply the brakes automatically. If you’re having issues with it you should get it fixed. But, it’s your call man

My taco kept doing the random brake now warning until I did the recall and all they did was put a patch over it and reprogram the tss.

    Thanks you for idea........
Will have performed, if possible....... have 3” lift and aftermarket pro grill.
DOUGH! Lift raised TSS sensor by 3” and pro grill lowered TSS sensor by 3” so end result sensor in same height as factory.
    Will see dealers commitment.

Every dealer is different I’m sure. I was lucky. I have a lift and Pro grille. They didn’t say anything about it. I did get a OEM Pro grille, I’m not sure if that made a difference
