My 2014 TRD is having an issue when I am driving fairly fast (40-55mph) and take a hard corner to the right. The driver's side front brake applies and the vehicle stability control indicator flashes. It basically pushes me into oncoming traffic. This has only happened a few times but it FREAKS me out and has almost caused me to get into an accident. Any idea on what this could be. I can't imagine i'm driving to fast around a corner. Seems like something else.

    Thanks!

Unless you're on a race track, I'd say taking a hard right at 50mph is pretty fast, especially in a pickup. Sounds like your truck got it right.

In any case, check for any loose nut between the steering wheel and the front seat.

Thanks locster. I guess I don't feel like any of the times it happened were excessive for the conditions as I was keeping up with traffic. I'm not sure why there would be a loose nut between the steering wheel and front seat? did you mean front wheel?

    thanks

Your truck has oversized tires on it? The stability control system is calibrated for stock tires, and is not aware the tire difference, so it is attempting to correct something that doesn't need to be corrected when cornering. You need to recalibrate it. Others will chime in on how to do so.

I've heard of this happening, seems to be really dangerous.

I was just messing with you about the loose nut. Just that you said taking a corner at 50mph, I pictured a sharp 90 degree turn at that speed. That is insane for any vehicle on the road.

Maybe you were referring to a wider sweeping turn on a highway. Then as others have mentioned, you can get the truck's sensors recalibrated by the dealer. It's still a hit and miss fix though, as many still have the same issues after recalibration.

People usually get this problem after going with larger tires.

Turn off the system using the VSC button. I personally would not feel safe taking a Corner at 45 - 50 MPH.

Lol...yeah, sweeping turns but still fairly sharp coming down from the mountains on the highway. Good to know i'm not the only one.
