Ok so if this is in the wrong place please excuse me and mods can move to appropriate place..

I have a 07 Prerunner and i had a bad squeak problem when i would back up in the mornings and when i would let the truck sit for a few hours.. it is only in reverse... So i checked the pads.. they were crappy Toyota brakes that they put on at the dealer before i bought them.. My mechanic when i had him look said they were the lowest quality ones that Toyota makes... anyway so I just put Thermaquites on a 5 days ago, Ive used the pads multiple times on other vehicles. (BTW easiest brake pad install ever) They were great, for the first few days, backed out of the driveway.. no squeak.. now 5 days later started to squeak again.. Not sure why? any help or suggestions on why and how to stop this..

Not sure about your problem, but the OEM brakes are just fine. Have 65K on mine and no problems/squealing yet. Its a truck and not a race car...

I get a squeal once in a while backing up. But I'm pretty sure mine is coming from my back brakes. I haven't had my drums off for a while, so I'm sure things need cleaned up.

Agreed with Spaceman about Toyota quality for pads. I like them. They hold up and not a ton of brake dust.

I have the same exact squeak from back up too. It's the fronts, from your brake pins squealing against where they touch the pad. Brake grease will remedy this problem, but only for a little while until it wears off. I just live with it now, there's no damage being done, but for a while it drove me crazy.
