My 2014 does that after washing the underbody. The last time, I had to drive it half-way out of the garage with the right rear wheel locked, until I had enough room to back up and break it loose.

It is caused by the semi-metallic brake pads rusting fast to the brake drums. In the old days, vehicles had asbestos pads which did not rust.

The solution is to not set the parking brake until the brake drum has time to dry.

I use my parking break often when parking on inclines. Thanks for the info.

My parking break will do this after being washed. Haven't found a solution yet but it always seems to free itself.

Bilstein 5100 shocks all around, old man emu springs, add a leaf.
Had this happen to my 2011 today. Washed it, let it sit for a couple hours, then went to pull out of driveway, in second gear, and rear brake seized up, stalling out the motor.

Started back up, was able to go in reverse back into driveway. Then put it in 4wd low, and the rear wheel really froze up. Couldn't go forward or back, just chirping/dragging tires.

After reading this post, I decided to take the wheel off and beat the brake drum around the outside with a hammer. Put the wheel back on, seemed free, then froze up again at the end of the driveway. ... Repeated process with hammer.

Finally freed up and drove the hundred miles home. No issues since. ...Weird Tacoma stuff. Guess beating the brake drums every 105k is standard maintenance.

Thanks for all the previous responses.

Clean and adjust the shoes, put some dabs of grease at the contact points between the shoes and the backing plate
